New  this year: a 38-foot high zip line, lawn mower races and an indoor extreme sports show. rides cost $3 to $6 each

Here’s a Valentine’s Day event for ages 21 and older including a progressive dinner with stories about the pairing, partnering and mating habits of the zoo’s residents. This event usually sells out, so get your tickets fast. $65, $60 pass members.

Carol Morsani Hall at David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts 1010 N MacInnes Place, Tampa FL Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, this legendary musical tells an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. This 25th anniversary production of the mostly all-sung musical set in 1830s Paris features a re-imagined staging, quicker pace and an impeccable cast. $55-$110.
