Carlos Pena, Tampa Bay Rays, St Pete, FLLast night’s night game of the Tampa Bay Rays vs. the NY Yankees seemed more like a mid-season game than an opening night game. Carlos Pena has let everyone know that he has returned to the Rays, big time. He started out the game in the first inning with a grand slam and ended the game with a single to give the Rays the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning with 1 out, bases loaded. The score was 6-5 Yankees in the bottom of the ninth. Desmond Jennings opened the ninth with a single and Ben Zobrist tripled home the tying run. Then NY Yankee pitcher Mariano Rivera intentionally walked the next two batters to load the bases and struck out Sean Rodriguez. Carlos had 5 RBI’s for the game.

Our pitching was interesting at best. I think that we went through 5 pitchers. Hope our pitchers do better tonight.
