Memorial Day Weekend at the Florida Aquarium

Paddle Against Cancer

    The Club at Treasure Island ,   400 Treasure Island Causeway , Treasure Island FL   three-mile and a seven-mile paddles with a pool party, silent auction, live music, free paddle boarding demos and a cash bar. Proceeds benefit cancer research, education and patient care at Moffitt Cancer Center. $25 minimum donation.

Memorial Day Sand Bar Concert

      Weedon Island Preserve,  1800 Weedon Drive NE, St. Petersburg FL  Anchor on the sandbar near the cut bridge off Weedon Island Preserve or wade from shore to a floating concert on a party barge featuring music by the Cross Creek Blues Band and other guest musicians. Viewing is from the water only, so wear your bathing suit and bring chairs or floats to sit in the water. Pets and coolers welcome.

    State Theatre,  687 Central Ave., St. Petersburg FL   Van Halen cover band Van Wilson plays at this benefit concert for Paws for Patriots. The three brothers — TV reporter Mark Wilson, Hollywood actor Patrick Wilson and local advertiser Paul Wilson — return to the bay area after their concert at the Local 662 in 2010. Comedian Tim Wilkins serves as master of ceremonies.
