The NAACP Clearwater/Upper Pinellas County Branch and the City of Clearwater invite the public to the 30th annual celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day which includes a Leadership Breakfast, 9:45 a.m. march and 11 a.m. rally at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St., Clearwater. $4 for breakfast.

Parade Route: Begins at Dr. MLK St. & 3rd Ave. S. Proceeds north to Central Ave. Turns east & proceeds to Bayshore Drive Turns north and proceeds to 5th Ave. N. Turns east & proceeds to the Vinoy Park and ends at Vinoy Park.
The parade honoring the life and dream of Martin Luther King, Jr. includes marching units, bands, vans and more..

7 pm Dream of Jazz  Morean Arts Center 719 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, FLMusical salute to Martin Luther King Jr. features a performance by guitarist Nate Najar and bassist John Lamb.$20, $15 members.***One of my favorites took place today-Battle of the Bands and Drum Line Extravaganza: 4 p.m. Sunday at Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg.  Elementary schools through college compete. Plan on attending it next year.
