A total of 1,116 homes — single-family, townhouses and condos — were sold in January, increasing 3.4 percent from a year ago. However, home sales fell from the 1,398 homes sold in December and are at the lowest they have been in a year, according to the data.

Home sales were led by single-family, which increased 5.9 percent from a year ago. On the other hand, sales for townhouses and condos fell 0.5 percent year-over-year in January.
